Ten Years!

Ten years is a really LONG time to be married. And since we're very traditional and the traditional ten year gift is tin, I am giving my beloved a can of peas. My husband woke me up this morning - he goes to work early - to say happy anniversary to me, and I was like "Buh." and "Glorp." I am articulate in the morning, especially the 5 a.m. PRETEND morning part.

I also wrote a post at Five Minutes For Parenting - surprisingly enough, it's about being married for a WHOLE FREAKING DECADE. So go read that, and let me know what you're surprised doesn't matter anymore in YOUR marriage.

Happy Anniversary!

Next week is my anniversary. We're not legally married so we celebrate on the day of our first date. It's been 9 years....nearly a decade. Holy crap...that's a long time!

Congratulations! It'll be 30 years for me in November.

Isn't life grand?

Happy Anniversary! I read that the traditional gift can also be aluminum, so I gave Scott a desk clock from our local forge, which makes hammered aluminum decorative items.

Congrats! We hit ten years in April. Hard to believe in this day and age.

I can't believe that physical things still don't matter-that our bodies crave each other more, and that I love him MORE than I did that day long ago. So strange.

Enjoy the peas! I hope they were the good ones!

A can of peas is an excellent idea. Though it might be the death knell for our marriage if I were to do the same. It's one of the very few foodstuffs that Joe can't stomach.

Happy Anniversary!

Congratulations on 10 years! That's awesome. And I can see that you're keeping the romance alive by selecting canned peas as a gift. ;-)

19 years for us next month.

Happy Anniversary!

we have been married 13 years, together 16. it is a heck of a long time.

We are just going thru some stuff now, so I guess, we are LEARNING not to let certain things matter anymore. Cause we really love each other you know?

may you have ten more and ten more after that....and so on and so forth.

Oh, wow, I just realized that I was six days away from giving birth to my ten pound baby when you got married. She'll be ten on the 31st.

It'll be sixteen years for us in December.

Congratulations! From reading your blog I get the distinct impression that you and your husband are uniquely suited for each other.

Happy Anniversary---

what doesn't matter to me so much after 16 years of marriage? I'm going to have to think on that.

I just got all caught up on your blog, after being in the VBS bubble for the last MILLION days. Glad you're not blind... glad you're still posting... and can't wait to read more of what you have to say :)

happy anniversary beck! loved your laundry post - you conjure up such vivid images - i loved the details of the romance novels and the greasy spoon...folding laundry and falling in love.

happy anniversary. oh... i've been married 2 whole years more than you, so I must now start spouting all my sage advice...

oh right, I've learned that I know just about nothing. never mind, then. you seem to be getting along famously without my advice, anyhow.

A can of peas. I love it. I must say, though, one of the things that has gone by the wayside? Romantic anniversary gifts. A card or maybe dinner is about as good as it gets these days, after 11 years. I think we may have just bought ourselves windows for Christmas. Awwwww...

happy annivrsary!

Happy anniversary! A decade is a really, really long time. It can be a little overwhelming to hit a landmark like that. We have lived in our house for 10 years and now I am looking around saying things like "Has that paint always been that ugly?" and "Wow, I've used these same towels for 10 years!"

Well happy anniversary!!!!

We're coming up to a decade ... and a half married now. Sheesh.

Happy Anniversary! I was just thinking about the fact that 10 years can fly by, but also seems like a lifetime.

Happy Anniversary!

In 2 years time, it will be our turn to hit the decade!

Sometimes its amazing how 10 years zoom away just like that when you see a couple of 1 year at the divorce-office...

PLEASE tell us about your wedding. I bet it was beautiful and meaningful and you did NOT dress your bridesmaids in dresses that screamed "we are the unclean, the unwed! Pity us in a subtle way as we stand next to The Bride whom we love just a little bit less at this moment, but we'll get over it." Did you have cake? What were the wedding favours?

Happy anniversary.
