Manic Monday

I've had that Bangles song stuck in my head for nearly two decades now, it being my brain's apparent default mode. My Monday is not at all manic, though - well, not now that I've successfully got the older munchkins off to school, anyhow - and I have a new Kitchen Party post up with pictures of last night's insanely delicious chocolate pie AND some thoughts on what food means as a mother. So go read that, okay?

It gets stuck in my head every once in a while too, but I actually like Mondays for the most part.

For a ridiculously long time I thought the song was "Man Ache Monday" and I still catch myself singing "man ache" instead of "man-ic".
Oh, and the pie looks amazing!

I heard that song on the radio today. It sort of HAS been a manic Monday for me but things have settled down now...off to read the post.

This is what I called my post LAST Monday. Crazy, huh? Hope you have a great week!

I almost didn't visit because of the title, but by invoking the power of Suzanne Vega and Luca, I kept The Bangles out of my head.

I think you've just turned my hectic day into a calmer one... with the mention of just that one song. I like it... haven't heard it forever, and I'm singing it.

As much as I adore you, I am now cursing you for getting that song stuck in my head. I can't stand the Bangles. Well, the bass player was cool. But that vapid lead singer...GAH!

Ok. I have to go read the rest of your blog entries that I've missed so I can love you again.

No, it's Eternal Flame that stick in my head everytime. Sometimes for weeks. The Germans have a special word for a song that you can't get out of your head: an "ohrworm" (earworm)!

That song drives me nuts because I try to make sense of it.
