Good Things Come In The Mail

This has been a terrific mail week - Monday saw us get THREE packages: a book order! a toy order! some shoes that do not fit me!

And look what Kim sent The Girl and me yesterday:

Bookmarks! Beautiful hand-lettered and painted bookmarks! You can only see part of The Girl's - it's personalized and just gorgeous. Thank you so much, Kim! Now I may finally stop dog-earing all of my books. I can't promise to stop writing mean comments about the authors in the margins, though. (and in all seriousness - they're lovely! I love them!)

Today, we got our tax return and a postcard from China. Hurray! If the mail keeps it up, this will be the Best Week Ever.

In other news, I'll be starting a new blog anyday now called "Hey Everybody! Tell Me How Cute I Am!". It's going to rock. Also something that rocks: I just got an email that I've inherited $70 million dollars from some guy in Africa or something. It's all a bit unclear, but anyhow, as soon as I send this guy my social insurance number and bank account information he's going to transfer all of my excellent $70 million into my account. I'm planning on spending it all on gum - 70 million packs of gum.

And in closing: The Baby only wants to eat toothpaste today. Thank you and see you tomorrow.

Why stop with gum when you can buy yet more shoes that don't fit you? And maybe a bathing suit that doesn't fit you. (I know the latter always boosts my self esteem.)

I'll take any shoes, whether they fit or not. Mmm, shoes...

Sounds like a great week to me! If you get all that gum, you will need the toothpaste.

I love mail. Most days. Like last week when I received a threatening letter from the state demanding I pay overdue taxes or they will repossess my "property." They neglected to say what property they were refering to and I'd thought I had paid all my taxes. I tried to call them about it to no avail, so I paid the bill. Then, yesterday I received a long form saying that I overpaid my taxes and needed to fill out the big long form AND have it notorized in order to get my money back.

Whoa long comment.Anyway, that's all to say it's been a great mail week for us, too!

I love "real" mail. What a great way to brighten a week and needs brightening.

Ooo, bookmarks and lots of mail. A very good week indeed!

Now just where are you going to store all that bubble gum?

Man, I've had no good mail yet this week. Unless you count catalogs as good mail. Me? Not so much.

Let the baby have all the toothpaste she wants, cause you're practically almost a millionaire.

I am sure there is a space in the Food Guide for toothpaste, maybe under "Other" or something.

Real mail is the best and shoes come in the mail? I have to look into that.

No way, you too!?

Apparently I am the only living relative of some billionaire dude who died in a plane crash in the Amazon somewhere...which I can't quite figure out because, as far as I know, I have living relatives who might challenge that assertion. But, what the heck. What do I know?

Mmmm gum! Send me like a million packs of gum, because if you have like 70 million, you won't miss one million. :P

What a great mail week!!! I hope it keeps up!

Lovely bookmarks! Your mail rocks! Mine is dull and boring and I would go for days without visiting the mailbox if it weren't for my diligent husband.

Congratulations on your windfall! All that money! At no risk to you!

Hee hee... be sure to give us the link to your new blog ;)

Maybe I should look in my mailbox when I get home today... sounds like it's a good week for it.

I'm expecting some lovely things in the mail this week too. I can't wait!

Aw shucks. There's nothing wrong with being told you're cute now and then. Besides, I think I used the word "beautiful."

I love bookmarks. I tend to dog-ear books, too. I bought a couple of bookmarks last time I went to the bookstore, and wonder of wonders they haven't gotten lost yet!! (That's probably because ever since Lancelot was born, I haven't had much time for reading, when I was previously reading 2 or 3 books at a time. lol!)

Oooh, bookmarks! See, now, around here THEY'RE all the baby wants to eat. Mmm, fiber.

70 million packs of gum? My Husband was going to spend HIS 70 million on an in-ground pool. He emailed the guy back and told him so...also asked him to send a picture of the deceased so he could work on a good disguise, etc.
We've had a good mail week here too - a record six anniversary cards!

Forget the 70 million, what book did you get? :vD

Those bookmarks are just beautiful! How talented she is.

The Baby will have fresh breath! $70 Million eh? Sounds like you are One. Lucky. Girl. Be careful out there.

And ... those are lovely book marks. So pretty. So talented. So lucky are you.

I would feed my daughter all the tooth paste she wanted if she would only quit snacking on her own nostril cast offs anytime we are in public.

Now I have to own up to having a fierce aversion to the slang word for mucus. That and the other way of saying randy.

We must be related! I got the SAME email! Ha.

Glad the mail is going great this week--wish mine would perk up a bit.

I received a similar email the other day - only I'd won a car and a whole heap of British Pounds.

Oh, I got the inheritance e-mail too--but I spent all my money already and am back to being poor. Sigh.

Ooooh! I love mail weeks like that! Yay for the postman and Kim and her wonderful bookmarks.

That 70 mill. sounds great. Don't forget to send Mr Generous African your pin number, I'm sure he'll need that to 'deposit' the funds.

Looking forward to your new blog...

Man, ya gotta be quick to catch a picture of Beck. You always rescind them after all the flattery.

Oh well.

My husband always tells me that he doesn't notice the difference of when I'm wearing makeup or not, which is funny. I mean, I don't look awful, but I do look different.

Beck, I just read your post about the "weekend Away." The bees. I thought I might be the only person fretting about the bees. We have a fruit orchard, and when I go out to count, I see maybe 2 or 3 bees - 2 or 3! I'm scared.

Beck, you are awesome.

WOW! All I get is mail from charities -- making me feel guilty.... What motivated the new bloggy?

Tracy said...

Ooooh...I'm all about the mail! I think my mailman might be afraid of me because I'm out the door to the mailbox before he can even pull away. I'm the mailman stalker.

Jennifer said...

You are so cute! Adorable! Definitely the most beautiful blogger without makeup I've ever seen.

Just warming for the new blog.

Dammit, I knew I shoulda written back to that guy: that 70 million coulda been mine, and now you're gonna get it.

All I'm getting in the mail this week are bills. But my shoes fit (and they didn't last year at this time) so that's something.

You have had a wonderful week of things to receive in the mail! Are you sure that 70 million is meant to go to you? Cause I've been getting that same email, pretty persistently too!
